why stone yoga?

A deep respect for the body’s innate intelligence guides this training. Our bodies have a brilliant, sacred structure. Each bone, muscle, and joint has a function – a “dharma.” When we move in ways that respect our unique needs,
we respond with profound relief. We feel better.
We function better.

The Stone Yoga Method blends the teachings of Structural Yoga with three respected lineages: the breath-centered, highly adaptive approach of Viniyoga as taught by Krishnamacharya, the time-honored wisdom of Ayurveda, and the organic movements of Feldenkrais. We also draw upon a thorough understanding of contemporary treatment approaches.

In this course, you will learn to teach many different types of students, from those able to participate in traditional hatha and flow yoga classes, to those with movement restrictions, injuries, or health challenges, who benefit from modifications, props, and a compassionate, healing approach.

The Stone Center's Yoga Alliance-accredited 200-hour Teacher Training course will provide you with the skills to meet the growing need for well-trained yoga professionals, while giving you the tools to enhance your personal wellbeing and journey of self-discovery. Upon graduation, you will qualify for national recognition as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYS) through the national Yoga Alliance.
