I started practicing yoga because I wanted to get in shape. I wasn’t flexible or strong, and I didn’t have good balance so the practice was a struggle. Yoga lifted me to another playing field, physically, mentally and spiritually. The shift was gradual, but holding poses strengthened my body, and breathing deeper slowly calmed my mind. I was able to practice daily and build confidence. In 2013, I took the 200 hour teacher training at Stone Yoga, under the guidance of Charlotte Stone. The practice and philosophy of yoga have become deeply integrated into my daily life and help me to overcome the many challenges that life has thrown my way. I enjoy my own yoga practice, but the joy I experience from teaching is above and beyond, and far more than I ever expected. I give many thanks to precious teachers from different schools of yoga – Laughing Lotus, Jivamukti, Sivananda, and Sonic Yoga. I will be always grateful for the gift of this practice. I teach in the Vinyasa style from Hatha yoga; I love to build each class on a philosophical theme, incorporating pranayama, mantra (affirmations), and meditation. Strong attention is given to alignment. Join me on a yogic adventure. Check out a class. You’ll sweat … and you’ll even laugh out loud.
