
Laura Fisher is a versatile fitness professional with more than 15 years of experience. She is certified by Aerobic Fitness of America as a fitness instructor, personal trainer and yoga instructor. In the mid-1990’s Laura began her career as a personal trainer and fitness instructor at Australian Body Works in Atlanta, Georgia. After moving to Riverdale, New York in 2000, she opened her private practice.
While running her own practice, she began working as a yoga instructor for children with learning disabilities. She later became the Fitness Director for the world renowned biopharmaceutical company Imclone, where she was tasked with running their corporate Fitness Center, offering a full complement of classes including yoga and personal training; she also wrote for their quarterly newsletter.
Laura has a special passion for helping women 50+ become and remain strong and fit, with a focus on bone health and osteoporosis. A lifelong student of the body and its magical healing powers, Laura has attended workshops with Gary Kraftsow, one of the world’s leading yoga therapy teacher trainers, and she studies and takes class with Charlotte Chandler Stone, a recognized expert on yoga for osteoporosis. In addition to her many trainings and certifications, she is also a certified Reiki Master.
Laura has been featured in the Riverdale Press and the Bergen Record for her unique and effective training style. In addition, the yoga program that she developed for young students was profiled on NBC Nightly News.
