Liz Millner has been active in the fitness and wellness industries for 35 years, offering a wide range of fitness programs to groups and private clients. She teaches group Pilates classes and individual sessions that incorporate Pilates and strength training. She is AFAA certified as a Personal Trainer and Aerobics Instructor, IM=X Pilates certified, a Johnny G certified Spin instructor, and an IIN certified Nutritional Health Counselor.
Impressive though her credentials may be, her work and personal commitments are even more impressive: every Tuesday Liz can be found volunteering with the Center for Food Action, and she also offers gentle Pilates classes pro bono for the Cancer Support Community at Holy Name Medical Center. In addition, she raises funds annually for the Steven Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a climb up the World Trade Center in which she is an annual participant. The Ride to Fight Hunger with JFCS is another fund raising event that has Liz biking for Meals on Wheels. And, she has rescued a number of dogs … or, as Liz might put it: they rescued her.
Liz’s students — who fondly call her “The Enforcer” (you can’t make that up!) — rave about her Pilates Mat classes, where she offers a good level of challenge, while always adapting for students who are just starting out, or who need modifications due to injuries or other conditions. She may be strong, and she may be tough, but Liz has a heart of gold, and her devoted students know it and have a fierce dedication to her classes, where they work out in an atmosphere of fun, friendly encouragement and exchange.
