Sue began practicing yoga on and off about 15 years ago but it wasn’t until she began taking classes at Stone Center for Yoga & Health during the Summer of 2015 that her yoga journey actually began. After retiring from Katz Media Group, a media rep firm based in Manhattan, Sue enrolled in the Stone Yoga 200-hour Teacher Training Program, graduating in the Fall of 2016.
In addition to her 200 Hour YTT certification, Sue has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance from Hunter College. In the Fall of 2015, she completed an MBSR Program with Ellen Schwartz, PhD, and in 2017 completed a Chair Yoga Training with Charlotte. This past year Sue received a Certificate of Completion for the online 20-hour Teaching Yoga to Seniors/Certificate Training offered by Carol Krucoff and Kimberly Carson.
As she continues on her journey, she has found that her earlier dance education (Ballet and Modern) has added to her experience by incorporating the positive elements of her training into her own practice. Sue believes that the practice of yoga can bring health and well-being to people of all ages. She enjoys sharing with her students the benefits of yoga, some of which are improving balance & posture, increasing flexibility and strength, as well as quieting the mind. You can often find Sue stepping in to teach when one of the instructors is not available; when she does, her students always profoundly enjoy her thoughtful sequencing, her exquisite attention to detail, and the themes she weaves into her class from beginning to end.
